Chase's big moment
On Saturday, we played Fairfax. We had to beat them to get to playoffs. Tim and I were supposed to go to our 20-year college reunion (ouch) at W&M, but we didn't want to miss what was possibly Chase's last game. Boy are we glad we didn't leave town. Besides successfully receiving one of the kick-offs (above), Chase had the biggest moment of his personal season. We were winning by 6 points in the fourth quarter, but Fairfax was about 20 yards from a touchdown. I hope this link will work. If prompted to login, shoot me an email and I'll send you the user name and password. Highlight clip no. 97. It's hard to follow, but Chase is 2nd from the right, playing outside linebacker. He's number 84. After the snap, he starts dancing around to see where the quarterback is going - and then you see him dive. After his teammate (no. 90) had stripped the ball, Chase dove in and recovered the opponent's fumble, resulting in a turnover. We won, and we're headed to playoffs! After the hurricane, of course. PS, Clip 13 is the one of him receiving the kick-off. Now Chase can honestly say he touched the ball this season!
