Mountain men, cannons and Christmas trees

What a day! We woke up and ate egg & sausage casserole, ham biscuits, pumpkin bread and cranberry bread. Waddled off to morning activities, laundry, Chase's tae kwon do class and similar. After an early lunch of turkey & cranberry sandwiches, we headed to Snickers Gap Farm out in Roundhill to chop down our tree. Hustled it home and into some water before heading to Manassas Battlefield Park with friends to climb some cannons and pretend we were interested in the history (although Chase did get some great stuff for his "five senses nature hike" extra credit project, including SEEING about 8 deer chasing each other around the battlefield and SMELLING a skunk on the way there). Wrapped that up with dinner at Cafe Rio with our friends before we headed home. Then brewed some decaf, piled our dessert plates high (thank you, Aunt Anastasia) and decorated the tree. A wonderful Saturday all around.
