Wonderful Calvert Cliffs in Southern Maryland: apparently the whole area was covered in a shallow sea over 10 million years ago, and when the water receded, it left these amazing cliffs with fossils of ancient beings, including sea birds the size of small airplanes. Now it's a beautiful wooded 2-mile stroll to the Chesapeake Bay for fossils and shark teeth. We've also hit plenty of parks and pools in recent days, trying to soak up the rest of the summer as much as possible.
