Let's Just Call April a Wash, as blogging goes

Bronchitis for everyone, a broken leg, a missed vacation, Tim's stomach bug, and now my Cole has been vomiting at roughly 1-hour intervals for about 14 hours. It's not that I wish April away. On some level it forced me to slow down. To just be with the kids. And the illness was certainly a blessing when it came to Caroline's leg healing. She was willing to lie in bed for nearly two weeks watching TV, which resulted in early removal of that blasted cast. But my blog sits a little unused, without the few pictures on my camera and iPhone (or Grandpa's camera) of Cole's birthday party, Caroline's birthday party and miscellaneous special moments, like breakfast out with my daughter when the power was out in our neighborhood. But it's okay, sometimes I just have to LIVE my life, and the pictures will have to stay where they are, because right now Cole wants me to lay down with him.

And the doves that had abandoned their nest in our pink tree have returned and built a nest a little higher up, among the now thick green leaves. And two branches up, robins have done the same. So we can watch two little families start to grow as we lie on the sofa and slow our own big family down for a while.
